Meals

We want every child to have enough energy for sport, learning and playing together.

Breakfast for early birds

At the request of parents, we are extending our menu with breakfast for children who arrive by 8:00 and do not manage a calm breakfast at home. Children start the day with a balanced, tasty breakfast made from quality ingredients.

As before, drinks are available throughout the day along with varied food including a mid-morning snack, lunch and an afternoon snack. We believe this addition will make mornings easier for many families and give children a relaxed start to the day.

How meals work at the Klubík

Meals at the Klubík are governed by the contract between the parent and the childcare provider. Children under one year of age cannot be given food by the provider – they always receive food brought in by their parent. For older children we can provide food (prepared by us or from a supplier), or serve food the parents have brought. A child is given food at the times when they are actually present at the Klubík – the service is flexible.

Lunches for the Kentíci

For children from 18 months we offer the option of ordering a hot lunch. Lunches are prepared from quality ingredients with children's nutrition in mind. Every day we offer a soup and two main course options. Orders are handled by our staff as agreed with parents.

Lunches are paid in advance. If a child is excused in time and does not come that day, the lunch is not charged. At the end of each month we settle up according to the lunches actually taken.

Our principles

Eating habits in the youngest children

The first years of life are crucial for building a healthy relationship with food. When serving meals we follow these principles:

Children learn by imitation

Whatever they see in their parents or carers they will copy – the choice of food, table manners and pace. We lead by example.

Regularity yes, pressure no

We never force food. If a child refuses, we wait until the next meal. We do not offer sweets as a substitute.

Feeding means full attention

An adult is always present, watching the child and stepping in when needed – for example if there is any risk of choking.

We eat calmly

No television, phone or computer. A shared meal is a pleasant, focused time.

Solid food means sitting at the table

A child should sit while eating – ideally always in the same place.

Repetition is key

A child may refuse a new food up to 10 times before accepting it. Let's be patient.

We respect tiredness

A tired child may refuse food. If they fall asleep, that is fine – we offer the meal later.

Sensing their own needs

We do not answer every upset with food – that way a child learns to recognise what they really need.
