About us

Welcome to us, the "Kentíci sportovci". The story of a Klubík with a soul, our team and how we really work with children.

How I built a Klubík with a soul

I trained as a preschool teacher. When I was starting out, a young teacher was expected to stay at "her" preschool until retirement. But my path was never like that. After years of working with children I found myself doing childcare in families. In time I realised that a nanny becomes a silent witness to everything that happens in a family. And explaining to an eighteen-month-old why they cannot be with the parent behind the door is often heartbreaking.

When I had seen a third child through to preschool age, I told myself I wanted a quiet job until retirement – a receptionist, perhaps. But life had other plans. I forgot to remove my profile from a childminders' website – and one day a mother wrote to me looking for care for her three-month-old boy. When she came to see me with one-month-old Fabík, I could not say no. I handed in my notice and started looking after him.

I discovered that a child needs their own neutral environment, which is neither the parents' home nor the nanny's. A place where they feel safe, where they have friends, a rhythm and joy. And that is when the idea of a Klubík with a soul was born – a space that gives children love, security, order and freedom, and gives parents the feeling that their child is in good hands. Without judgement, without clichés. Because putting your child in someone else's care is not selfishness – it is often courage and responsibility.

Finding suitable premises without knowing whether I would end up there alone with Fabík was an enormous risk. But his parents supported me incredibly – and it turned out I had taken the right step. In two years, 25 children have already been through the Klubík. We have known most of them since they were three months old. Children who grow up in movement, with joy, among peers and without stress develop faster – physically and mentally. And that is exactly what I have been after from the start. Movement, joy, relationships, being natural. A klubík with a soul.

Who are the Kentíci?

Little stars from the Centaurus constellation. They flew to us because they love movement, fun and adventure – just like children do. They stand for our values: movement, joy, health and friendship.

Our vision

We believe sport can help children grow strong not only physically but inwardly too. We support natural movement from the earliest age, build trust between children, parents and our team, and offer a meaningful alternative to passive entertainment in front of screens.

Who looks after the children?

Experienced carers, sports enthusiasts and empathetic souls united by a love of children and movement. Every team member goes through a selection process and training and, above all, works with their heart. What matters to us is a kind approach, respect for children, safety, hygiene and trust.

How we work with children

Activities and methodology

Sports education

We develop children's motor skills, improve their physical fitness and guide them towards a healthy lifestyle. We develop movement through fun – each day we focus on a different area: exercising, dancing, running, ball games. Daily activities include the obstacle course, where children practise several motor skills at once and overcome obstacles – and the course can be adapted to the children's age.

Arts education

Nor do we forget to develop artistic qualities: art activities full of colourful fun and music activities – singing and playing instruments. We accompany important daily activities and rituals with a simple rhyme – linking the development of speech with the activity, and the rhythm helps children remember them better.

Walking and gross motor skills

12–24 months: large individual differences, first uncertain steps, rapid qualitative progress, walking up stairs one foot at a time with support (and towards the end alternating feet).

24–36 months: walking backwards too, running, walking up stairs alternating feet, down stairs with support. The child kicks a ball, throws a ball and tries to catch it. They can stand on one leg for a moment.

Fine motor skills (self-care)

12–24 months: can eat with a spoon, around eighteen months drink from a cup, around two years brush their teeth, practising sitting on the potty, attempts at taking clothes off.

24–36 months: progress in self-care – washing their hands and face, drying themselves. They can hold a cup in one hand, undo a button, put on simpler clothes, turn the pages of a book, thread beads. Regular meals together and encouraging independence at the table are an excellent opportunity to develop fine motor skills.

Pre-writing skills

12–24 months: first interest in drawing, making lines – what matters is the process, not the result. The pencil grip is still palmar; hand–eye coordination is developing.

24–36 months: gradually lines within boundaries, circular scribbles, attempts at a circle, a ladder, a sun. Some children make their first attempts at a figure (a "head-footer"). The grip starts to become a finger grip.

Vocabulary (lexical level)

12–24 months: first words; by the end of this period vocabulary grows to roughly 200 words (very individual – some children only start speaking shortly before their second birthday).

24–36 months: a marked increase in vocabulary. From one- and two-word sentences to fuller sentences and describing things and events. Grammatical errors occur (e.g. incorrect word inflection).

Comprehension (semantic level)

12–24 months: the child understands basic words and simple instructions ("Give me the bottle." "Bring your shoes.").

24–36 months: understanding of words develops and the child uses words more flexibly.

We see parents as active partners with whom we share in the upbringing and education of their child. Between the ages of one and three children develop at a rapid pace and are markedly dependent on their family, both physically and emotionally – and we take that into account at the Klubík. An individual approach is a matter of course here; we accommodate your needs regarding attendance, food and so on.

  • Individual updates – consultations about your child's development, what to focus on and tips for practising at home.
  • Regular information about the educational programme for each week – you always know in advance what awaits your child.
  • Information about how the day went – how your child behaved, what mood they were in, how they ate and drank and what we worked on.

Three times a year we organise stays that parents can join too – winter, spring and settling-in. Always at places that meet the hygiene requirements for young children. Adults can enjoy not only nature and sport but wellness as well. More in the Trips and camps section.

What parents say about us

★★★★★

“Our daughter joined the group at just fifteen months and I was very pleasantly surprised by how smoothly and quickly she got used to the new environment. Much of the credit goes to the carers, who devoted themselves to her settling in with heart and patience. The group is remarkably flexible – every child is given the space to take their own time. I warmly recommend Kentíci to all parents looking for quality care in a kind, supportive environment.”

“Fabík has been part of Kentíci sportovci from the very beginning, so from about 3 months old. Kentíci is his second home. He recently celebrated his 3rd birthday, and the wonderful, easy-going boy full of energy, laughter and good spirits he has become is not thanks to us, his parents, but above all to the group and the care at Kentíci. An individual approach, a smaller group of children, smiling and patient staff who love the children and want to help them grow. That is exactly what you want for your child.”

“An absolutely first-class Klubík with care at the highest level! The carers are incredibly dedicated, they would do anything for the children and treat each one individually according to their needs. The focus on sport is wonderful – the children are always on the move and the programme is very varied. Our child looks forward to coming here every morning and we as parents are delighted with their professional and very kind, human approach. We could not have chosen better!”

“What I value most about Kentíci is how individual and flexible the approach is. You can drop your little one off and collect them whenever you need. A child can be put down to sleep in the pram, can have a dummy, a toy and their favourite song, and children can sleep whenever and for as long as they need. I think for children under 3 in particular this way of caring is wonderful and there is no unnecessary pressure on them.”

“A beautiful, clean environment, wonderfully kind staff, great equipment in the children's play area and excellent facilities throughout the club. My daughter (4) had her birthday party here and it was perfect. Ten children fitted in comfortably, parents included. Everything was superbly prepared, including the lovely decorations, and two kind young ladies looked after us perfectly the whole time. I recommend it to everyone, 100%!”

“I have known Hanka, the owner, for a very long time. She was our son's carer when he was 1–4 years old, and she worked long-term with three other families I know, all of whom were delighted. She has experience with more 'demanding' children and handles them perfectly. She was always like a beloved grandmother. I can fully recommend her.”

★★★★★

“Hanka looked after both our sons when they were 1 and 4 years old. Although they are both little bundles of energy, Hanka handled them perfectly. She looked after them for over a year, both at our home and at hers. I trust her absolutely; the boys always came home from her thrilled. I have recommended her to other friends and wish her every success and many happy, contented children and parents.”
